Veterinarian Louise Beyea tries to listen to the heartbeat of Louie, a nearly-2-year-old Pomeranian, as veterinary technician specialist Emily Regier holds him recently at Affiliated Emergency Veterinary Service. Treated for that, Louie’s tremors soon eased and his temperature dropped to normal. Steve Kuchera / skuchera@duluthnews.com
