One seriously hurt in Iron Range crash
A 19-year-old Gilbert woman was seriously injured Friday morning in a single-vehicle crash east of Hibbing.
The Minnesota State Patrol reported that Lynda Jean Williams suffered life-threatening injuries in the crash at the east intersection of County Highway 5 and State Highway 37 in Cherry Township just after 10 a.m.
Williams was driving a 2013 Ford Focus south on Highway 5 when she failed to stop at the stop sign at Highway 37, crossed the highway, went off the road and struck a row of trees, the Patrol said. Road conditions were icy at the time.
Williams, who was wearing a seat belt, was transported to Fairview Range Medical Center in Hibbing, the Patrol said. No further details were available Friday night.
